I’ll take Cathedral hopping over Island hopping since I am prone to motion sickness. I just love how colorful the city is and I agree that once the secret is out this place will be flooded with tourists. I’ve never been to Cancún or Mexico City and would definitely put Guanajuato on my list of places to visit over the other two. Happy to hear the food scene accommodates a variety of palettes

You are absolutely right! I haven’t been to Spain, so I guess Guanajuato is my best choice. I’m loving the architectures in this city. It really looks like Europe!

We have really only visited the beach vacation spots in Mexico to escape the Canadian winter. Guanajuato looks like a spot to enjoy more of the local culture. And to learn more about the history. That view from the heights shows what a colourful city this is. But I may be passing on the Mummy Museum. Some great reasons to add Guanajuato for a future trip to Mexico.

Great idea to head up to the lookout first thing to get your bearings for the city. Haha the viewing ‘box’ for the statue looks interesting! How cool are the tunnels. I’d love to explore some of those on foot, but as you said, only if you can see sunlight at the other end. I am claustrophobic, so I’m not keen to go wandering a big, black hole.

I think Guanajato should get the award of being the prettiest city of Mexico. To my surprise, I have never really heard of this place before. But now I can totally say this goes in my bucket list. I would love to stroll by these colorful streets, eat out, and do a lot of cathedral hopping.
