That sunset looks amazing! I have never seen boulders like that before either. I love stuff like that. Definitely a place I’d visit if I ever have the chance to travel to Brazil again

This is definitely a beautiful island with wonderful views, especially from the fort. Since there are so many rounded boulders in the water, I can only guess that swimming and snorkeling there are likely not a good idea. Do you agree?

What a lovely spot so close to the city! Ilha de Paquetá looks really nice, especially that unnamed beach with the giant rocks and calm water.

It’s funny, but for me, getting onto a boat or a ferry to reach a destination makes it feel more like a holiday/adventure, even if it is super close. I guess that is why I love places like this so much… although more food choices would make it even better! 😉

ooooh! This place is for me! What a great find! First of all, the moving water on the first picture, I could watch that all day! Ilha Fiscal looks like something I dreamed up in a fairy tale when I was a kid. The paddle boats are super cute, and that sunset is to die for! I just love traveling though your blog Kevin!

I have never heard of Ilha de Paquetá in Rio before and what a gem you have found. It is definitely one I want to add to my list, especially to visit Ilha Fiscal to see the castle. I love the fact that the island has no cars, only golf carts and bikes to get around, I could understand why it is so quiet and clam then. Thanks for the tip too about there being only a few restaurants, noted.

Ilha de Paqueta sounds dreamy and the perfect place to chill after the buzz of the city. I love that it has beautiful and quiet beaches and that nobody drives on the island, the fort looks interesting and it’s good to see a bit of history too.

So this whole trip throughout Paquetá seemed kind of eerie to me as like you said it seemed like no one lived there! How bizarre. I would rather deal with crowds and finding quiet time than being completely alone searching for noise! But with that said, I do love all the unique beaches and I think it is really cool that no one drives on the island. I was kind of surprised now to see bikes everywhere! That fort in the Danke de Mattos Park is a neat thing and love the viewpoints the park offers too!
