Very good guide overall, especially because it captures the real expat experience in Saigon: you fall in love with Vietnamese food, but sooner or later you also start looking for a great pizza or a proper coffee spot. I also appreciated the part about neighborhood street vendors — that’s really where you discover the soul of the city. And as a bakery owner in Saigon, I can confirm that people often underestimate how strong the café and snack culture is here.

I use a combination of my phone camera and my Canon EOS Rebel SL2 to take pictures. I find that my phone captures bright colors well, and my camera does a better job capturing details, e.g. on the cathedral. Enjoy your cruise!

I will be embarking on a Viking Rhine River cruise soon. I am trying to plan through each day. Going online and researching each town along the Rhine gives me a better idea of what to expect and to see so I was glad you put your experience on the internet. Your pictures are beautiful. Did you bring a camera or is those pictures from your phone? They are sharp and detailed.
I think the included tour is probably extensive enough. The last excursion comes back at 6:30pm so I imagine the ship leaves in the late evening sometime. I will probably just google best places to eat and maybe a little shopping if there is any and I think that should do it.
