But you can also find crystals, plants like bonsai, bags, jewelry at those tent-market. I’d also recommend visiting the big galleries if you like anime, they sell figures, mangás, DVD, and other things related with it and also k-pop, cosplay, etc…
 In reply to Tom.

Hello, I’m local here and hope to help out – As for the nightlife, we have a Koreatown in another neighborhood and that’s where most of Oriental style bars and karaokes, and there’s also Vietnamese restaurants there – The neighborhood is “Bom Retiro” and you can go by subway Line Blue – Tiradentes; You can also find a few “stylish luxury” brands for tennis and clothes there with unique designers such as Nike and Adidas collections. But be aware that both of neighborhood are kind dangerous to walk during night, so be careful walking around, better to visit both during daylight 🙂 As for Liberdade during the weekends and holidays be prepared to face huge crows and lines, the tent-market at the square, they sell mostly food such as teriyaki, tempurá, takoyaki, pastel (traditional fried Brazilian type of guioza – i highly recommend it !), yakisaba and also some deserts like fried ice cream! The food for one just looks amazing through your photos. The culTural center looks like a great place to walk around and learn through the exhibits. I would to explore this area whenever I visit!

I’d also like to visit the food fair in the plaza and try some of the ramen.

I am right with you on trying the ramen restaurants. They are my favorite!

I’m fond of street art and the street art scene of Liberdade looks amazing. I never miss an opportunity of exploring Chinatown and Japantown in the US cities whenever I’m traveling. The food scene also looks very enticing.

However the Japanese dishes in Liberdade do look appealing. The bakery and street art is something I will certainly not miss. Great post!

That ramen looks fabulous. The pedestrian bridge view reminds me of one I saw in Boston, of all places! I’m glad to know that overall Liberdade is a safe place to visit. You have me with Japanese food, Thai food and street art!
