What a cool little place perfectly in between Rio and Sao Paolo! Love all the views looking down into the town. But I think I would love to see all the old-school Volkswagen beetles! That is really fun! I mean to think they have more there than probably in my entire state of Louisiana! What a bizarre and quirky thing to be known for. Of course, the food at places like Dona Dita and Jeca Grill and really all of the places you found looks amazing too!

In reply to Jamie Italiane. There are a couple of hikes but unfortunately I don't recommend wandering along the country roads as pretty as they may be, mainly because there's nowhere to stop if you need a snack, water, etc. Plus, there's no cell service outside of the main town.

My first impression of Pariba Valley was that it must be some hidden village in Himalayas, then I realized that it is a village in Brazil. The food section was really alluring.

I have to agree. I don’t really feel like I have gotten to know an area until I have ventured outside urban centers and visited the countryside (and mountains if they have them!!) I especially love seeing all the VW beetles, and the food in Cunha looks like the kind of place I’d love to stay…and then go hiking through the views you found from those amazing viewpoints!

Cunha looks like such a fascinating area to visit. I love the beetles! I would have to visit the Town Market and pick up some cachaça. The food looks delicious to!

Cunha has such a rustic and old world charm. The pictures of the old classic cars had my attention riveted. Some of the best experiences are always to be found in the countryside and villages.

I lived in Brazil for two years. It has been over 7 years and I miss it. Your food section was a great walk down memory lane for me.
