Kochi is one of our favourite places to visit in India, and we have been there multipletimes and never fail to be mesmerized by its magic. The place can really be called a complete treat for the senses. From its rich heritage, art, and culture to its diverse cuisine. The impact of different cultures across history has weaved an enticing mosaic in the fibre of Kochi. Fort Kochi is of course our favourite haunt, we love to spend time walking along Jew Street or chilling in one of the quirky cafes that abound in Fort Kochi.

Those chinese fishing nets are the most unique feature of the place. Even visit to Dutch colonial part is completely a unique experience here. It is glad that your post made me nostalgic and I revived all my beautiful memories.

India is so diverse, this is completely different from what you would expect in the north!

Whenever friends from overseas ask me this is always my answer, followed by Rajasthan. It has an amazing vibe, so much to see and safe to enjoy! I love Kerala 🙂

I have heard the beaches are lovely there. I really like that traditional boat on the backwaters and I would do that for sure. I am also quite impressed that Kochi seems very clean compared to other parts of India I have seen in the north.

I love the simple, old school method of catching fish with the nets. It reminds me of what people may have done 500 years ago before we got more fancy and technical. The food sounds amazing, but it’s such a shame so many rude people ruined your experience at the Kerala Kathakali Centre.

Although the boat tour was slow, it still looks like something that shouldn’t’ be missed. I’m so sorry to hear the disappointment at the Kathakali. It sort of reminded me of Japanese Kabuki. It’s unfortunate that the experience was not so great with the flash photography and the disruptive audience.

I know my first trip to India, and if I have to summarize to up I would say that I was in a complete shock, with the extreme humidity and the over crowded places. However, yours seems far better than mine, I haven’t been to Kochi yet but it does seems somewhat similar to SriLanka with all the food and the culture. I love my trip to Srilanka so I am pretty sure I will love Kerela too. Pining in down for any future reference. Thanks for sharing this awesome review.
