Great post. Really gives you a good feel for what to expect. A number of fellow bloggers have recommended to us to do this day trip when in the city of fury. I guess now we must.

When we were in Buenos Aires last year, we wondered about taking a day or couple of days to visit Uruguay and now after reading your post, kinda wish we had. But then again, we honestly had no real extra time in our agenda. So, that means … another trip! Yay. 😉 And I simply have to try the clericó — I’ll take mine with rosé poured over all the fruit thank you.

Colonia really looks beautiful and peaceful village with all rustic charms. I loved the blue and green colors of nature in this place. Also the colorful houses, those vintage styled old cars are adding beautiful charm to this place.

I think it was a great idea to spend a day in Colonia. It looks like a charming little town and the food you had there looks so delicious. I’ve never had wine poured over fruit. I’m gonna have to try that myself

I love exploring little towns which are not touristy and off the beaten track. Would love to do this as a chillout day whilst traveling from one country to another. Great tips. Thank you.

This does look like a pretty charming and relaxed village to visit. I enjoyed looking at the flowers and green landscapes on your photos. 🙂 Was that a photo of the ferry? It looks impressive BTW. Doesn’t look like your usual ferry. Great reminder on passing through both the Argentinian and Uruguayan customs in Buenos Aires. People might miss that too. 🙂

This looks like a great trip. I love lighthouses and that clerico reminds me of sangria, it looks delicious and refreshing!
