The beach kiosks look so fun for lunch! I’d love to visit the neighborhood and watch the local beach game and the sandcastles being built. I bet Andrew would want to learn how to play Futevôlei!

I think I’d heard of Copa’s shady reputation in passing, but you’ve convinced me to give it a chance. Your photos make it look truly lovely. I love the different paving stone patterns that allow you to tell the two beach areas apart! I also hadn’t heard of futevolei – sounds fascinating and seriously difficult!

The beach looks stunning and it always appears to be busy. I love the sand and bronze sculptures.
Do you know if there is any good snorkeling or kayaking at Copacabana or Ipanema?

Wow so much packed in one beach! First of the all the view of those limestones is so amazing – totally gives the Asia vibes. Then there are so many activities and shopping and sand art! Wow is the word! Thank you putting together this amazing experience.

Even though Copacabana is a world-famous beach and a must-do when visiting Rio de Janeiro, it also feels quite authentic. This is where cariocas live and visitors can experience Rio for what it is… Thank you for sharing your experiences of Brazil!

Ohh I love the sand art and the fact that it’s actually maintained by local artists! I wonder how often they change the sand sculptures? Copacabana sounds safe enough to me. As you said, just take all of the normal precautions that you would when you’re travelling anywhere in the world and you’ve no reason to feel unsafe. I think you could pass away a few hours just with people-watching, eating, drinking and viewing a game of Futevolei.

is it normal for so many forts to be in an area? What do they color the sand with? I would love to walk that boardwalk, but would have a hard time not singing the Copacabana song out loud.
