It’s hard to come across English written Blogs from this part of the world, so it’s appreciated 🙂

I think that English and Spanish could be used to get by, but every extra vocabulary word in Portuguese helps. I was never fluent, and listening will always be the most difficult skill for me, but I guess I picked up enough to never be completely stuck.

Yep, in Chicago now! I still have some other Brazil blog post drafts and just did two trips to Arizona and Florida, so the blog will kind of be all over the place before I finally start getting some Chicago content out! 😂

It makes the place tourist friendly. Curuípe won my heart for its scenic location.

Based on your knowledge and personal experience I would definitely opt for staying in Arrraial. I like that’s it’s got the most on offer and seems the most central for getting around.

But we sure did come to love the Brazil beach areas like this. Arraial d’Ajuda sounds like a great spot to use as a base. It looks like my luggage might be an issue getting to many of these other spots to stay. But they may be great as day tours.

But I would take your advice. It seems like they both have pros/cons, as places do. But it is such a pretty area, with such great beaches it seems like you can’t go wrong.

Good you have listed where tourists trap and some good options. I would also prefer to book a hotel or guesthouse room in Arraial d’Ajuda as there are so many convenient day trips from here.

Praia do Espelho Is so pretty! I think I’d choose Trancoso to stay in, although they all seem to have pros and cons! Where are you now? Chicago still?

I really need a vacation! Some of the beaches look fantastic and it will only be another 3 months until we go to the beach again.
Since many of those places seem pretty remote, how good can you get along with English? I know you speak Portuguese, but we don’t.
